I wish I could push this book hard enough. It's a coffee table sized volume, ca. 100 pp., full color, glossy paper, and millions of amazing drawings and illustrations done by the author, who is not the amazing artist Robert Williams -- he is wrongly listed as the author but writes a great introduction. The real author? "Stanisław Szukalski (13 December 1893 – 19 May 1987) was a Polish-born painter and sculptor who became a part of the Chicago Renaissance. He also developed the pseudoscientific-historical theory of Zermatism, positing that all human culture was derived from post-deluge Easter Island and that mankind was locked in an eternal struggle with the Sons of Yeti ("Yetinsyny"), the offspring of Yeti and humans. He illustrated this theory in his works."It's true. He's as loony as all the great ones, and his art was soooo fabulous. At least google him and THINK about buying a copy of this frickin beautiful book!!!!!
Outstanding over-sized reproduction of Stanisław Szukalski's oft brilliant, and even more often confusing theories of human development - his concept of "Zermatism" - the struggle of pure humankind and the mix of Yeti-Human hybrids that persevered the biblical deluge, unaffected on the remote Easter Islands. Even if you aren't interested in his wacky theoretical musings on evolution, this book is well worth the price of purchase for the incredible, mind-boggling illustrations - including Szukalski's brilliant redesigning of the written language. The foreword by Robert Williams itself is priceless!
Interesting art and excellent fringe theory.
Skulkalski did more by the age of 21 than DaVinci did in his entire lifetime. His philosophy and artistic expression is astounding to say the least. This book, being much larger format than a typical art book, was wonderfully packaged and arrived in excellent condition. Will use this merchant again.
I admit that like a lot of people who have heard of this book, I believed it to be merely a manifested work of a demented mind. After I read the book I was shocked by the aethestic and scientific quality of the work. Szuzkalski was extremely dedicated to his anthropological work and it shows throughout this book. Whether or not you believe in Zermatism is constantly tested througout your reading, even if it doesn't make you a believer it will definitely open your mind.

Szukalski was a genius. He may not have been completely sane, but he was a genius. His artistic abilities are absolutely unchallengable: look at these sculptures and try to find their equal anywhere. He could imagine the unimaginable and then create it in stone or bronze or plaster. The great sin is that so much of his work is lost due to political upheaval. Likewise, his illustrations are exactingly obsessive representations of his great theories: Zermatism! Protong! Yetisynin! He was utterly convinced of his ideas, and he makes forceful arguments for them: if you are convinced of their truth, I would advise you to seek professional psychiatric help.But: whether or not there's even a shred of truth to his (admittedly cranky) theories, they are a fascinating expression of a completely unique character, one you should discover. If you value quirky genius, Szukalski's will keep you happily enthralled for a long time.
